Just When....

I was ready to sell the boy child to a traveling group of gypsies he has to go and do something like this. Just in case, does anyone know where a band of traveling gypsies is camped?

See, the boy is 10 almost 11 and knows sooooo much more than me. We have been having a battle of wits for the last year. I mean I am such a nice girl (let me adjust my halo here it's a little crooked). Who did I offend?

The other day was his friend's funeral for his little sister. I was shocked when he asked if I would take him. He said he thought he should be there for his friend. But this brief sentimental trip by him was NOT going to throw me off.

Along came 4:30 and I braced myself as I told him he needed to get dressed. Okay was all he said and shut off the video games. A few minutes later he came out. I was readying myself for the fight over what he was wearing. He asked "How is this?" and I gulped hard as I turned around to find this....

My little sweet boy was back. Obviously he had finally managed to thwart that other evil boy who has taken his place lately. I almost cried when he asked if he should wear a tie or not. A tie?!
Hell I was just glad his pants were covering his underwear!

Besides the circumstances I actually enjoyed our date. Just me and him. He told his friend's Mom he was sorry that she lost her little girl. We even went out to eat and he held the door open for me. Usually he slams it on me.

But alas we walked into the house and the magic disappeared.

He walked by his sister and smacked her upside the head and said "What's up fatso?"

I like that other kid I was with better.

Oh Maggie:
You are magnificent specimen of mother hood...A mix of Lucille Ball, Irma Bombeck and Gilda Ratner : ) You have enough to write a book. You are so funny to me. I bet you have a blast with your kids!!!
I spent the weekend with 2 of my daughters (they are grown and 1 is pregnant) so hormones were flying : )
All is well : )
hugs

Thank you everyone for your comments, but the sweetness was short lived.

Carole, I am SOOOOOOOOO glad everything is ok! I was starting to worry about you. Was just getting ready to send out a pack of St Bernards with Mojito barrels to find you!
