What's For Dessert?

I promised you a little something to top off the Cinco de Mayo dinner I made last night.

Here it is!

Fried Ice Cream Hot Fudge Sundae!

Yum!

How do you make it? Well let me tell you!

First you need to gather up some supplies.

Vanilla Ice Cream
Corn Flakes (I used Frosted Flakes)
Hot Fudge Sauce
Whipped Cream
Strawberry per sundae for garnish

Using a ziploc bag, put some of the cereal into it. With a rolling pin, smash up the cereal really good. Set aside.

Take your vanilla ice cream and scoop a ball of it. Transfer the ball to your hand and squish it into more of a ball.

Put the ball of ice cream into the cereal and smash some flakes into it. You want the ball well coated. If you are making multiple sundaes, you might want to put it in the freezer while you make the rest.

Put the "fried" ball into a bowl. Heat up the fudge sauce and pour it on! With my tribe it is not dessert unless it is slathered in chocolate! Top with whipped cream.

Leaving the leaves on the strawberry, make slices. Don't go all the way through! You want the strawberry still in tact. Fan out the slices and add to top.

Needless to say, it was a hit!

Ahh, yes, we learned to make "fried" ice cream balls after we tried many times to make fried ice cream balls, and they tasted every bit as good, no mess and no melted balls with all of the topping boiled off in the hot oil! Fabulous with the beautiful strawberry on top. I think I want this for dinner tonight.

Maggie,

You missed your calling. You should be a chef at a comedy club. This looks absolutely scrumptious. Definitely a recipe to save!
