Catching Up!

So I have spent this week trying to decide on new colors.

Jeffy's room is now SW Lightweight Beige but I am thinking that I am going to repaint it SW Kilim Beige

I think I want to repaint the girls room and do a treatment on the wall behind Brianna's bed. This room is SW Familiar Beige now but I am thinking of going with SW Divine White. I still have to do some thinking on the treatment though.

The kids have done a great job keeping their rooms clean. My daughter still refuses to make her bed though.

The stairway....

living room....

and foyer are SW Lemon Chiffon now. These I want to paint SW Divine White also. When my hubby goes bear hunting I want to do a little something with them. It's a surprise though!

The mudroom is SW Lightweight Beige now but I didn't like it as soon as I painted it last summer. It looks purpley in here. That is also going to be painted to match the foyer.

The kitchen is SW Nomadic Desert now with the white beadboard wallpaper. The white will stay, but I am going to lighten up the top with SW Kilim Beige. It is too dark a color in here. Makes the room look dreary.

I did get the other pillow sham done for my bed....

I also made this little pillow for it. I put the pin that I won from the Daisy Cottage giveaway on it also. It's a silvery blue microsuede fabric from the Christopher Lowell collection at Joann Fabric. I love this fabric!

But tomorrow we start the painting.

Fun!

I do have some tips on painting to share with you.

One of the guys that we just hired used to paint houses and he shared some secrets with me.

And I will share with you!

Also, Lori @ Wildflowers gave me an I love your blog award. So first I have to list 10 things that I love. I hate to disappoint ya but I don't have pics to go with my loves.

1. Reading a story so funny that I squirt coffee out my nose! Yes Jackie, it still hurts from reading your blog the other night!

2. Driving my son to school in my powderpuff jammies and donkey slippers, waiting til he is a safe distance from the car, getting out and yelling really loud "Mommy loves you pooder!" If being an embarrassment to your kids is not a joy, there is something wrong!

3. Feeding my husband a really big meal and setting the scale up 10 pounds.

4. I love it when my son tries to do the same trick to me but goes 10 pounds in the other direction!

5. Chasing around my 3 year old who has bolted out of the back door with nothing on but a crown and a pair of butterfly wings.

6. The smell of my new ocean scent candles by Pier One.

7. Listening to my oldest singing to her IPod with her earbuds on and not realizing everyone else can hear her.

8. Having my period FINALLY being over!

9. The smell of coffee!

10. Chocolate!

Now to pass it on!

I still have to do the plastic joy award.

It's harder than I thought it would be to think up 5 sexy characters!

Next post I promise though!

Oh dear girl, all the painting you have to do makes me dizzy. I used to change colors of my walls way too much. One wall must have at least 10 coats on. Mercy.

Dar is my sister, I love her blog too. And YOURS is always super, but did you have to remind me I have several cans of paint waiting to see the walls. Yikes! And the plastic joy award cracks me up... reminds me of the Christmas at my daughters house when my husband positioned several naked Barbies in her tub with a Santa Claus doll. We made sure only she saw them and not the grandkids. lol
Thanks for commenting on my blog and thank you for serving in the military.

You my girl make me laugh out loud!! Painting ~ holy crap batman ~ are you crazy?? lol Apparently you have the "Just Do It" bug while I seem to be content with "someday". I need to get off my tush and get some paint too which really does not take a lot of time to do ~ it's the prep work. We will be ripping up carpet and laying new flooring upstairs so I will be doing something. Have a great week-end Maggie ~ love your list btw!! xo

Dear Maggie,
You have a lot to do when your other half is off bear hunting !
I love your 10 things. You really make me laugh. I'm sorry my post did you a mischief !! It hurt me more than it hurt you though !!
One of the few good things about being old is that periods are no more !!
Have a great weekend, Maggie, with lots of coffee, chocolate and laughter. XXXX

Maggie, Thanks for passing on the award! HOw can I eer lost 10 things and have them be as funny, charming and sweet as yours. How do you do that? It is a killer combination!!!!!!!

Now onto your house. You are a machine! I can't believe how much you get done and your to-do list is more like a "ta-da" no problem list! I can't wait to see the outcomes of ALL the painting you are going to do.

We are re-painting my kitchen and family room but I can't pin a color down. Right now it is a bright yellow/gold. I think I want it a light taupe because my kitchen is white. You seem to know what would look best and go for it. I am really struggling with this project!

Hey, when you get time don't forget the bagels!
I'm sorry I have been a little lax on communication lately. Hectic these days. Wrapping up 2 bible studies and a couple of women's retreats and having a bitty health issue.
Love your funny and sweet posts and you too!

Maggie, sorry about the spelling- let's do this again. "How can I ever list 10..." You know I can't spell worth beans, and now you know I can't proof read either!

I see you want me to list 10 things I love. I am new to blogging. How do I post a link on my blog? I can't figure out how to do it. Do I need to ask others to do the same thing? Carla

Maggie, To answer the camera question, and sorry I forgot to answer it before, I have a Cannon Rebel. Bobby got it for me for Christmas. I was so surprised! I didn't start using it on my blog until Februrary. Before that I was using my trusty Sony Cybershot. I really love this little camera!
I still have no idea what I am doing with my Rebel, but I am going to take some lessons to get better at using it's bells and whistles.
I have 2 lenses, a regular one and a telephoto lense. The telephoto takes the best pictures.

I want to learn how to use lighting properly. I think my photos could improve so much if I would be more careful about the lighting.

One thing that I think really helps the "look" of my photos is I usually take "tight" shots. I think of them as just showing the details. They seem more artistic. When I take a wide shot it shows too much and then just looks like my everyday photos. When I get up close, people really can see the detail and it shows the subject I am photographing much better.
Just a little FYI.

I'm very excited for you! Hope this helps.
Love and hugs,
Yvonne

Wow! I am exhausted just reading about all of the work aka painting you are going to be doing!!! And I could just kick myself but I must have gotten so distracted by your hilariousness the first time I found you and forgot to become a follower! Then I would go to your site and think 'how did I miss that post?' Today I went to your followers box to sign in and it told me to become a follower... duh... I am now a follower because I don't want to miss anymore of your stories! I still love the door at the top of the steps, awesome! Your pillows are gorgeous and the tell all just made my day!! The scale thing is just too funny! O.k. lunch is over and now it's back outside for me. Thanks for stopping by and you know I'll be back! oh and I would love it if you came to the sale... it's June 4th and 5th the place is fabulous! There will be a citywide garage sale event going on too and this little town is pretty cool. Am I tempting you yet? You offer of chocolate tempted me and I would love to meet you too! Theresa

Sweet Maggie, would you like one of my rhizomes of the yellow iris? I'd be more than happy to send it after the bloom are gone.

I posted my thank you under the next post. So I get to say it again ...thank you for this darling award. You are way TOO kind - - You set the scale up only ten pounds for your hubby (hahaha). Do you really call your son, "Pooder"? That's what my husband calls our son (and he's now 19). Oh my, Maggie, you are making me laugh so hard and it's only 6:30 a.m. I am now exhausted from all this fun and will need to take a good long nap (haha) Thankyou again!

Sounds like you are going to be REALLY busy painting! :-) I'm sure you'll love it when it's done though. No matter how many times I see it, I'm always in awe of what a difference changing a paint color can make in a room.

Happy Monday!

Thanks for thinking of me Maggie!
I want to paint the dining room but my hubby needs to move the chandelier for me first. He said he won't do it until I paint the hallway that I never finished from last year...Men!!
