I'm Doing Good Cause The To Do List Is Shrinking!

I know it is only 3 days, but it is. The first day I sat cowering on the couch watching the kids run around. OMG! I do have to spend the entire summer with these crazed lunatics?!

Day 2 I got busy. The hubby is out of town but I googled some images that are close to what I worked on. I cleaned the porch. As you can see from the before pics it really needed it!

As you can see from the after pic it cleans up pretty good!

It really is a nice porch. So nice to sit out here at night!

Day 3 I painted the boys room. Ok, so this was a cheater one. I started to paint the boys room and stopped about halfway. It was ok though cause the old color and the new color were so close you couldn't tell. I also did the trim too. I do need to add the ceiling to be repainted but maybe after more of the list has gone.

Ok, so maybe his room isn't as big as the Sistine Chapel, but it sure felt like it!

Thank goodness the hubby gets home tomorrow and you can see the real thing.

I know all of you are on the edge of your seats waiting to know. It seems that maybe the 180 year old lady was right. Those weeds that I have been pulling really are black eyed susans! And to think that for the last 5 years I have been pulling them and buying more! They must have her locked down really good this time cause she has not been by.

I also noticed how big the bitty one has gotten in one year. Last year, she loved to strip down naked, fill a bucket up with water and sit in it all day!

THIS year she won't even take off her shirt cause "everyone will laugh at her"!

It is going to be a long summer though. The oldest one wanted to take a shower this afternoon. I told her that she had to take a bath cause I had taken down the shower curtain and it was in the dryer still. An hour later she tells me that the bathtub is leaking. WHAT?! You gotta be freaking kidding me! Have no fear though. Seems she was just in teenager mode and besides the fact that I told her NOT to take a shower and the fact that the shower curtain was missing, she still took a shower. She still thinks the bathtub is leaking. I guess she believes there is some magical force field that keeps the water in the shower. The shower curtain is merely for show.

Margherita anyone???

I will be over with my blender ~ stat!! Once again you gave me a morning giggle and I thank you for that! We are still laying floor ~ waiting for baseboards so I can stain all 100 miles of them and then install ~ then I can clean and put all hte bedrooms back in order! Ahhh spring renos are very quickly turning over to summer renos! That was not in my plan at all ~ but alas I love with measure 6 times ~ hum and haw and then cut ~ at least the payoff will be wonderful. Happy Thursday!!

Yes Please, a margharita sounds great. It's not even 9 a.m. and my 2yr. old grandson is already making my hair stand on end. Where does he get his energy. I'll have that on your wonderful porch, one of which I have wanted on my house for 30 yrs. Don't rush me, he says.
Your entry gave me a giggle, with the painting similarities. HA!
Have a Great Day Sunshine

Good for you cleaning up the porch. I need to clean up our back patio in the worst way. We can compare veggies this year. :) Thanks for leaving me a comment.

This made me laugh. My girls are grown up and living in another state now. But I DO remember thinking, in about the third day of summer break, that I would be driven round the bend before the new school season started!

Maggie,
Visiting your blog tonight was a nice break. I can imagine myself sitting on your porch with a glass of wine. Take care.

My dear Maggie, I am checking in to see if you are surviving so far. I have not seen any signs of blogging life, so that means 2 things~ you are no longer with us or your children have kidnapped you and are making you do all those fun kid type summer things. I hope it's the later. Ice cream, swimming, going to the library, movies in the hot afternoon... Can I come and play too?
Miss talking (e-mail in our case) to you!

good morning to you! I always get a good giggle when I read your posts and enjoyed this one also. It has been a strange week here in Michigan eh? (tornados last night, earthquake yesterday - which I felt in Ann Arbor and it was not pleasant)...I love the picture of your little one in that bucket...priceless! Thank you for your paint comments...hope to narrow down our colors and pick the guinea pig piece soon...if the weather and humidity would cooperate! Happy Thursday! Nancy
