A Late New Year!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful New Year! I'm not sure if I have fully recovered yet.

The kids sledded across the street while I got to cleaning and cooking and decorating.

Someone was not happy about being left out though!

When I asked what kind of cake the bitty girl would like she told me she wanted "59 little princess cakes all in a circle holding hands!" I am not sure what the significance is of 59. She "settled" for one big princess and 4 little princess all different colors.

Aren't they cute? I would love to take credit for them, but my very talented sister did them. She has much more patience than me and I still have not gotten over the whole princess castle cake with 583 individual daises I did for the 1st birthday.

We had to dress like a princess too. I've really gotten my moneys worth out of this Halloween costume. I think it will be a very sad day in the DeLauder household when we have to bid adieu to this.

It's so hard to not touch.

Then came the big people party. The dog seems to think that she is a lap dog. Too much food, too much drink and too much fun means 3 days later I am finally upright.

Just in time to clean..... again....

Oh Maggie, The photograph of your litle one looking at her cake is so adorable. I think that she really loved it, didn't she ?
.... and the photo of your dog is brilliant.
I'm about to finish taking the Christmas tree apart and put all of the decorations away for another year and look forward to Spring. XXXX

Don't you hate that cleaning thing ~ someone should come up with self cleaning houses ~ but then I would not be able to afford one!! Love the shots of your Snow White ~ the cake is precious!

Maggie, My invite must have gotten lost in the mail. (haha) I would have LOVED that princess cake, not to mention the real princess who turned 3. She is so adorable. The pictures of her in her Snow White costume are priceless.

I'm making the venison this thursday! I am really anxious, but also a little excited. The recipe sounds so yummy! I'll let you know how it goes. I mentioned you in this weeks post. Come see.

No cloche, so I am looking for one on sale... but I did get the most wonderful honkin' digital camera with all kinds of lenses! Santa knows I am into the blog/picture thing now. I just need to learn how to use it.
Thanks for asking!

DEAR MAGGIE,
WHAT A DARLING BLOG AND FULL OF FUN. I LOVE, LOVE, YOUR PROFILE PICTURE. IT MADE ME LAUGH AND I KNEW YOU WOULD BE LOTS OF FUN.
I LOVE SHEBA....IS SHE A HARLEQUIN...I COULDN'T TELL BECAUSE OF THE SHADOWS ON HER. MY DAUGHTER HAD A HARELQUIN GREAT DANE NAMED GRACIE. MY DAUGHTER PASSED ON OCT 23, 2009 AND MY SON'S UNCLE IN LAW WHO IS A DR. ADOPTED HER. SHE HAS A VERY HAPPY ENDING. THEY TREAT HER LIKE A QUEEN. WE HAVE 2 CATS, 1 KITTEN, A RESCUE SCHAUZNER AND ADOPTED OUR DAUGHTERS BLACK CHIHUAHUA NAMED ROMEO BECAUSE HE HAS A WHITE HEART ON HIS CHEST, AND OUR YARD IS SMALL AND I JUST COULD NOT ADOPT HER.
IT IS COLD HERE IN OKLAHOMA AND GOING TO GET COLDER BUT I HAVE A DEAR FRIEND WHO LIVES IN GREYLING, MICHIGAN, SO I KNOW HOW COLD IT GETS IN MICHIGAN.
STAY WARM AND COME SEE ME.
