3 Hours

First of all, thank you to everyone for your support and words of encouragement. Also, thank you to Jan @ Bobbypinsboardwalk for the information about Quitnet.com. I did join last night. I also did some figuring. I will be saving 6.00 every day by not smoking.

So I started a fund jar and am putting in the 6 dollars every day. My mad fund!

I also have figured that I will gain 3 hours every day that I used to spend smoking. I was not a pack a day smoker, but I am figuring like I was. What can you do with 3 hours?

You could go shopping at Home Goods and get a really cute tablecloth for only 3.00. Yup, half of the price of a pack of cigarettes.

You could take this soso looking nightstand....

....into a cute shabby piece of furniture for the girls room you are still working on.

You could also make a big pot of bean soup....

....and a batch of corn muffins for dinner.

You could also work on that duvet....

....well let's not get totally nuts on the first day....

WOW! $6 a day, that will add up fast. Good for you. You certainly have the right idea, keep busy!!

I keep forgetting to tell you I am using your suggestion about the horse collar. I'll blog about it when I'm done. Thank you for your excellent idea!!

You are doing so GREAT! You're keeping busy and accomplishing things. The nicotine will be completely out of your system in only 3 short days -- after an additional 7 days, you will have survived "hell" week. Make a pact, before you smoke, post it on your blog and wait until you receive 3 responses. Make sure you send out that SOS and then wait. After your 3 responses, then you can re-decide. You're doing great!

Dear Maggie,
Well, you know that I am so impressed that you have given up smoking but, with all of the spare time and money that you've saved, you will be doing EVEN MORE projects and recipes and making me look hopeless !!!! haha.
Seriously, you are doing SO well. When I gave up smoking, I used the patches and, they may be rubbish but they worked for me, and although I could still have one now (after 20 years), you don't miss it.
Oh, and could we have the bean soup recipe please ? XXXX
