More Crazy Going Ons With No Pics!

Can you believe that summer is almost half gone? This week has been really hot here in Michigan. So glad that I have central air. During the day I have been holed up in the house cleaning and working. I usually drag my butt out when the sun is going down to do work out there.

Last night I was digging up some plants that are around the house that I thought were weeds. I'm attempting to transplant them. This may sound like a simple task. My dirt doesn't cooperate though. I think it has all the ingredients to make concrete and when it gets wet does just that. While it is wet it is easier to work with too. Also I have been on snake alert in the yard. This year I have seen so many of these nasty dispicable creatures out and about here.

I hate snakes....

So there I was with the hose and my shovel trying to dig up these weeds lost in my own world where I am sitting around the pool watching my handsome pool boy clean the hot tub. Anyways.... out of the corner of my eye I see a slither. Now when I see one of those nasty things I tend to freak. If I don't have something in my hand I will run screaming. Yes, I have run over small children to get out of the immediate area too. This time I had my shovel in my hand so I proceeded to chop it with the shovel. Then I screamed and ran when I got sprayed with it's "blood". Meanwhile everyone is looking at me like I am a freak. But there I stood feeling victorious cause I had beaten that nasty devil serpent. Really I was standing there drenched in water cause I had just killed the garden hose....

Oops....

See I have this one hose. Okay, I USED to have this one hose that to me looks like a garter snake. I know that garter snakes would never grow to the size of a garden hose. But when confronted with one of those slithery creatures all common sense goes out the window. I am blaming my husband though cause he bought me the garter snake looking hose. Definitely his fault.

Later that night the bitty one was catching lightening bugs with her imaginary friend. It was getting dark. The two of them were having a good ole time too. You have to understand though that when the bitty one is with her imaginary friend she doesn't just talk to her. She responds back to herself for her friend too. It's actually quite funny to watch her and listen in. Last night she screams. I go running. Ok, walking really fast as I can. Nothing wrong though it seems that her imaginary friend was making ghost noises and scaring the bitty one. I really don't know how that would scare the bitty one since she is the one also making the ghost noises. It does though.

I did manage to get somethings done around here though. I am attempting to clean the snake den of dispair aka the basement. I set a goal of one box or bag a day at the minimum. I figure that I should be done about the year 2016 or so. I will never again think that I am not a pack rat. Truth is I am. It's not even junk worth keeping either. So not only am I a pack rat, I am a low budget crap pack rat. Oh well....

Remember those lightening bugs the bitty one and her imaginary friend were collecting? They were sticking them in a jar. Last night I was laying in bed exhausted and I kept seeing spots. They were driving me crazy! It seems that the bitty one decided to "give" me the lightening bugs and put the jar on my nightstand. The jar had a plastic wrap cover over it. The plastic wrap had a huge hole in it so the lightening bugs could breathe. They used it as an escape hatch though. So at 1 am I was trying to recatch lightening bugs in my room.

I hope that everyone had a better day!

OMGosh...I can so relate to your dislike of snakes. I freak out just seeing them on TV!! I posted about my incident with the slithery beast and my son was my hero and killed it for me....then he helped down off the kitchen table :) I'm giggling over the lightening bugs...too cute of a story. Hope your day goes smoother :)

So funny! My husband could so relate to your snake story. He hates the things. He would knock down little people, old people, and dead people to get away from a snake. Needless to say, he calls on me when he finds a snake in the yard. Carla

I really needed a good laugh today! You are too funny!:-D

It has been hotter than Hades here in my neck of the woods and guess what? I have been sorting an purging in my dungeon AKA the basement, too. I bet I could go neck-to-neck with you in the packrat department.;-)

As I am laughing at your SNAKE story, it bought back bad memories of my REAL SNAKESSSSS a few weeks ago. I shudder just thinking about it. Check out my blog story titled SNAKES @ http://chershots.blogspot.com
My younger brother had an imaginary horse. As we older kids rode our real horses, he'd run alongside riding "his" real horse. He sold it to our older brother when he found out he couldn't take it to kindergarten. End of story, no questions asked.

How nice for you that bitty one wanted to share! I mean really who doesn't want to share their bedroom with a jar full of lightening bugs? In response to your question about where we go it's Grand Haven and the yogi park is right outside of it on the south side of G.H. on hwy 31. There is something going on every 1/2 hour or so I swear, usually more on weekends but even on weekdays there are arts and crafts and hay rides with yogi, a go cart park (extra $) so we didn't do that this time. The kids love the arcade and the pool is really nice. A little tip from me to you, if you ever find yourself there and want a decent shower use the pool showers :) you'll be glad I shared that little tidbit with you! That was Mi. Adventure, we hadn't been there in awhile and we had a great time. Talk to you soon, beware of snakes... Theresa

Oh, Maggie! I think we share the same pool boy! If his name is Edwardo and he wears a speedo could you please send him home to me... I haven't seen him around for awhile!

I LOVE your garden snake hose story. You do have the Lucielle Ball Factor! I think it is great! I just laughted so hard!

And your comment about being a low budget crap pack rat... well we are a strong breed. There are many of us. My mother, the cleanest most organized woman in the whole world; the one who's kitchen floor the cardiologists fight over to do surgery on, volunteered to help me clean out my basement. OMGoodness! NO! First it would take us 6 months working full time and she would be giving me suggestions the whole time on how to organize better! Mini lectures also! I would probably be brow beaten to death in the basement. Then who would find me? Aparently, no one but me ventures down there anymore!
I also promised myself that I would start to clean the basement out after the 4th. Is it after the 4th yet!

Would you like to have a little ongoing support group contest? Keep eachother in check and have a few good laughs!

If so, let's start Saturday. Tomorrow is my b'day and I'm not doing basement cleaning.

I have not told you lately... I love you! You are my best blogging buddy! I just did a little daisy table for 2 and said that we should call an important woman in our life and say "I love you". YOu were on my list! Blogging is so much better because we are friends!

I think I am going to faint ... yessiree! FAINT! A snake, snake blood ... EEEE-UU-EEEEEEEE!!! No way!

What memories you bring back with the lightening bugs ... the hours our children spent chasing them & saving them for the research labs.

Love the story of your daughter ... moments to treasure close to the heart ... forever.

Have a lovely weekend.
