Giveaway Winner!

Guess you all are wondering who out of the 4 brave ladies won the giveaway?

By random selection of the bitty one it is....

Art Teacher Girl!

And do you know what else? Today is her birthday! How fun to win on your birthday!

The basement is still going strong! I am up to 9 boxes that I have condensed down to 2 and 3 bags of garbage! I would show you the wonderful hole in the junk it has created but....

I HAVE NO CAMERA!

As soon as the hubby gets home from Chicago I will show you my progress and my gorgeous library table that is just about uncovered! My dad was actually going to throw it away. His wife said it was ugly and not going in HER house! I brought it home, the hubby stripped it and stained it for me. The first time she saw it she commented on what a beautiful table it was and if I ever got rid of it she would like it. I reminded her where I got it and what she had said about it cause I am that bitchy. She didn't have much to say after that.

I'm going to use it in my craft room. I have also come across a chess set that I started, oh about 8 years ago for my hubby. Black are cowboys and white is indians. I never finished painting it. So I guess first project to do is finish it and make a chess table for it.

I have been going to battle with these ugly creatures also....

Is that not the most disgusting thing you have ever seen? It's a tomato hornworm. They get HUGE too! They are eating my tomatoes! I found 7 on my plants. Me and the Valley Girl pulled them off and put them in a jar. I dumped them in the weeds where hopefully they find something more tasty than my tomatoes! You can also get a certain type of wasp that kills them. I don't think I want to encourage wasps in the garden though since it is right next to the patio where we sit at alot. I may get a bird bath though. Once site says that birds love these guys. As long as they carry them off somewhere else to eat them!

Yuck!

So that's all folks!

I am off to do more damage in the basement, stake up my tomato plants that the winds wreaked havoc on yesterday and work on my secret project!

I did get my menu figured out for this Saturday!

BBQ Chicken with Whiskey BBQ Sauce
Coleslaw White Farmhouse Style (you'll want to try this one!)
Grilled Corn
Cheesy Zucchini (I have owed this recipe for such a long time!)
Blueberry Dumplings over Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream
Iced Tea
Lemonade

I will try to get a post done about everything with recipes! and pics!

Again.... so much to do and so little caffeine!

You're one busy lady! I loved your bitchiness about the table... lol. I'm like that too. Sometimes you just can't help it when people are like that and sometimes you just have to subtle tell them so... lol.
I'm drooling over your menu ~ I'm trying to stick to the cabbage soup diet this week and everything besides cabbage right now sounds good.

You must share your recipes! The blueberry dumplings and cheesy zucchini and cole slaw sounds so good. Yum!
I have just emptied five big boxes of junk in my basement and carted off 2 30-gallon bags of garbage out of there. It's coming along, but have a long way to go. And I still haven't found my card reader for my camera to post pics on my blog. And I'm too cheap to buy a new one.*Sigh*
And your comment to your dad's wife. Loved it! (Tee-Hee!)

KUDOs on the library table rescue!!! Isn't it fun saving a piece of craftsmanship let alone the wood? I; just like my sister Mel, also have a tendency for "bitchiness" but it's reserved for specific people. LOL
Now I'm suddenly craving coleslaw and grilled corn. We just had the grilled chicken.

Sounds like you've been busy!!! Congrats on the progress! Don't know about that critter, I'm afraid that if I had them in a jar I'd screw on the lid and toss it in the trash:@)

So glad the basement project is coming along.
I love that you saved the table...I love refinishing the old into new again. It's value is in our love and use of it.
Now, about your attitude, I have to admit, I, too reserve it for the snits who don't even see it coming...just like my sisters Mel and Cher.
You go girl. I don't think she's getting the table, ever.
Have a wonderful meal...omg,....I'm drooling over the whiskey BBQ sauce and you really got me with the Blueberry Dumplings and HOMEMADE ice cream...2die4!!!!! See ya Saturday!

Congratulations Art Teacher Girl! I hope you are progressing nicely on your organization.

Maggie, I figured out a great solution to my fabric dilemna. It took me hours to find all my fabrics and organize them, but I'm so proud. If you get a chance, I've posted a few pictures. I'm still digging through the mess.

Next is all the paint and paint supplies.

I wish I had additional advice about those gross wormy things. They are horrid. I don't think I could touch them long enough to put them in a jar. I'm so proud of you for doing what needed to be done.

I'm suppose to get my roof on tomorrow. Again -- give that hubby of yours a big hug for me! I don't know what I would have done without his advice!

Uh oh...are you sitting down? You see that horn worm? You think it's an ugly creature now? Our first summer here I saw them on my tomatoes with the exception they were covered in white spikes. I immediately researched them and learned the spikes were actually WASP LARVAE ... wasps lay their eggs in the caterpillar and the larvae uses the caterpillar as its host, eventually killing it. Talk about nightmares! Bring on the chemicals.

Your Friend,
Deborah

I feel like I have been a little MIA! Sorry!
Tell bitty one happy belated birthday! ANd give her an extra hug from me!
I am making the tinest small dent in my basement. But it is a dent none the less!
You are my hero! I need your energy and drive!
I can't wait to see pictures of your finished basement! You might see mine in 2013!

I looked up your worm which is a Tomato Hornworm Larvae. They primarily feed on tobacco. He will turn into a beautiful black, brown and white moth. Personally, I'd get rid of him before he decides to make lunch out of all of your tomato plants.
