August Inspiration Post!

I know, it's a day late. Sorry!

To make things worse, I can't even show you the pics that my August Inspiration inspired me to do!

I suck....

royally....

....but what doesn't suck is my inspiration! She is just gorgeous, EXTREMELY talented and funny too! Plus, she loves Stephen King! She is none other than....

Besides making my button for the Inspiration Party, she did a faux treatment on her front door. In fact, that was the first post that I ever saw of hers. After a year of drooling over it, I finally tried it.

This is Jan's door, not mine cause remember I suck and have no pics yet. I am not even going to attempt to tell you how I did it. Actually, I followed Jan's wonderful tutorial which you can find here. There are also lots of other goodies on her site. It definitely is a must visit blog!

So Jan!

Photobucket

Thank you for inspiring me and many others!

As soon as the hubs gets home I will post pics of my door. I just wanted to get this done!

Now, if you would like to tell someone who has inspired you thank you, make a post and join the fun!

Tag you're it!

The party ends August 5th!

P.S. Just in! Here is a pic of my door that I did following Jan's tutorial!

Thanks Jan for the awesome tutorial! It turned a plain white steel door into a thing of beauty!

Awwww Maggie, this is like the sweetest thing EVER. You are such a doll. I don't think anyone has ever referred to me as their inspiration...truly! I'm overwhelmed and actually teary-eyed, to tell you the truth. Many hugs to you, my dear friend, and thank you for this honor because it means more to me than you can imagine.

I am so impressed to learn that you've been working on your door, and I simply cannot wait to see it.

I'm continuing to work on my craft room. I get one area clean, only to discover that I've piled it all in another corner (haha). Progress? I suppose so because the pile does get a bit smaller each time.

Maggie, you are a love and I will be walking around with a smile on my face all month now!

PS -- I am copying that button and will display it proudly on my blog!

Ooh, I can't wait to see your door. Thanks for the comment on my painted fruit. I haven't really done much to my living room since the initial makeover. The walls are still blank. How lame am I?

Have a lovely summer's eve ~

Maggie, your door is amazing. Your wood-graining is perfect! You followed the pattern of an actual wood door and no one would ever know that you had PAINTED it and that is wasn't a real wood door. I also love the color of your door. It reminds me of a dark cherry. Girl, you do me proud! I bow to you, my little grasshopper! I bet you've gotten tons of compliments on it!

OMG!! It looks terrific! Awesome job! Just beautiful.
Yes, yes a wedding to plan! My first! She has found a Flower Girl basket she loves and wants me to recreate!! Yikes!! She has a lot of confidence in me. She also wants to make a Wedding Card box, centerpieces, etc. We go to look at "The Hall" for final approval on Friday. It's sweet she's including me in everything.
Have a great week!!

You door is fabulous Maggie! I really looks like wood and the wreath and bitty one in front are fabulous too!!! Thanks for the tip on the oranges in the vinegar, I will be picking some up very soon so I can make some. I just came in from watering the flowers I've been slowly killing over the past month. ugh. it seems that I love the planting, love how they look, but in the last couple of weeks when it was too hot to enjoy them I kinda forgot they needed water too. so how lame am I? ugh. note to self only buy flowers that are drought resistant next year. See ya soon! Theresa

Maggie,

I will certainly check out Jan's blog. Both doors are amazing. They really do look like hard wood. The little pixie in front of yours is adorable.

I'm working on a post! I hope to get it up in the next day or so.....LOVE your door. If I could just finish up with helping my daughter move OUT, I could get back to doing projects for MY house. I'm such a great mom, eh?

The door looks fabulous! I have an ugly steel door painted red. The outside of our home needs some serious attention. It will have to wait until the kiddos are back in school. Too much to do this month!

Maggie my dear one,
It just pains me when a couple of days go by and I'm not in contact with you!!!!
We have had so much family here this week from California and Virginia. It is the first time in a couple of years all of my siblings are together. We are stuck like glue!!! Love it.
Hope all is well with you!

Hello Sweet Maggie
Summer sure has been flying by here, and I have been a terrible blogger! Just saw you are on facebook so added you as a friend....the Design Team and my Etsy shop are keeping me super busy (along with web design for the school) so my poor Decorating blog has been neglected (as well as my friends)...anyhow...hope this finds you well. Love how your door turned out! :)

I'm just a little afraid that the basement has taken you captive!

Hey Maggie,

Just wondering where you are, what you're up to and who you're with. Hope it's nothing I would do.
Do you need me to post bail?
Hope all is well in your world.
