I did my Gorilla Glue project and cannot wait til the 5th to show it off!
First of all I have a confession, I have a thing for mercury glass! I love this stuff! So.... I got soooo excited when Roeschel at the DIY Showoff did this!
I fell so hard for these buggers! Aren't they just gorgeous?! If you click on the link you can learn how to make yours too. So I thought, okay maybe obsessed, about this.
Then I saw this at the very talented sisters at Shanty 2 Chic!
I first thought of just doing the wooden bits in the faux mercury glass for the bathroom. Filling them with all kinds of bathroom necessities.
But then came the milk glass obsession....
But I still HAD to do this!!!!
So I got some stuff and gorilla glue that dries white....
The candlesticks are two different sizes that I got at Michael's. The 4 wooden circles are 4" rounds that I got there also.
I gorilla glued a circle at each end. One side of the circle is routered so I made sure that side was facing the candlesticks.
I picked a beautiful day to be outside spray painting!
I thinned down some brown craft paint and slathered it on. Then I immediately used a toothbrush dipped in alcohol and sprayed them. The alcohol makes the paint kinda bead up and go blotchy. Then I blotted it with a paper towel and let dry.
Aren't they cute?
